Prefinished Engineered Hardwoods

Prefinished engineered flooring is ideal for someone doing a renovation on a tight schedule, or doing an install below grade or over a concrete slab. Engineered hardwoods are designed with cross-ply technology that resists most expansion and contraction from yearly humidity changes. They also offer a wide array of finishes and treatments that site-finish products do not. Because these products are factory produced the color and finish options are almost endless; hand-scrapped, wire brushed, distressed and chiseled or chattered faces, oil and water finishes, and even the option to be smoked.

Solid Prefinished Hardwoods

Although engineered products typically cannot be refinished, they are usually finished with multiple coats of aluminum oxide using a UV curing process. This can allow some finishes to last up to 50 years in a residential application. Prefinished hardwoods are excellent options for someone who may want more choices and a unique look out of their hardwood floor. In addition, prefinished products can help if you’re in a time crunch. Engineered products are ready to be installed out of the box, and with the proper acclimation, your floor can be installed and move-in ready within a day.
